Touring in support of his 8th studio album ∞ (Infinity), the celebrated Breton musician, most famously known for his masterful work on The Amélie soundtrack, refuses to refer to himself as a soundtrack composer and he proved why this is so. The young crowd that filled the room and the surrounding balcony was spellbound as Tiersen gracefully played an array of instruments. Each song found him playing something different; from the piano, to guitar, violin, vocals and even a stint on synths. The other 4 musicians on stage were diligently determined to perform up to expectations while supporting the star artist's performance and rightfully so. Though conceivably intimidating to play alongside him, Tiersen's interaction with his ensemble seemed to lift pressure from the stage, making the show a comfortable one to watch.
His signature layered thematic patterns subconsciously invoke emotional connections and allows the audience to forget any stresses from the day, if only for a night.
