Megan Thee Stallion's best year ever still blazin' hot

2020 was Megan Thee Stallion's year and it continues to be her time to shine into 2021.

The world was introduced to the then 25 year old last April 7th with her first mainstream single "Savage".  People flocked to Tik-Tok to do the Tik-Tok dance to the feisty, unapologetic song making it an instant sensation. By April 22nd Queen Bey,  Beyoncé teamed up with Megan for the "Savage" remix. There was no stopping Megan Thee Stallion after that as the "Savage Remix (feat. Beyoncé)" blazed to the top of  the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

News broke that the rising rap starlet had been shot in the foot allegedly by Tory Lanez at Kylie Jenner's pool party on July 12, 2020. Getting shot didn't dull her shine though, if anything her stardom became brighter in the lime light that the controversy brought.

Her own hot single was still sizzling four months later when Megan Thee Stallion really heated things up with Cardi B. On August 7th, their single "WAP" quickly became the hottest single of the pandemic.

Last September when the new issue of Time Magazine hit the stands on September 22nd, guess who graced the cover? Cover girl Megan Thee Stallion was listed as one of the 100 most influential people of 2020

Saturday Night Live returned for it's 46th season on October 3rd, 2020 with host Chris Rock and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion. She used the platform to take a stance not only on the Black Lives Matter movement but more specifically protecting black women which has to do with intersectional feminism.

Megan Thee Stallion on SNL 10/3/2020

Her "Savage" performance, which was the first of the night, was done in front of a busy black and white mural that read "protect black women". It included a dramatic intermission with images of guns, gunshots and a recording of Malcom X in 1962 where he says "the most disrespected person in America is the black woman". That was followed by a recording of activist Tamika Mallory who spoke about the lack of charges Kentucky's Attorney General, Daniel Cameron said the officers who shot and killed Breonna Taylor would face.
Megan Thee Stallion then made her own statement about protecting black women.
A savage move indeed as the message was hard to miss on the nationally broadcast show.

Shortly after her SNL debut, the college student college student herself announced her partnership with Amazon Music's Rap Rotation to launch the "Don't Stop" scholarship. The $10, 000 is open for all women of color around the world enrolled in college who are working towards an associates, bachelors or masters degree.
Megan Thee Stallion is an advocate for transformative power of education and all women pursuing a college degree.

Good News album cover

On November 20th, 2020 , we all got some (more) good news when Megan Thee Stallion's debut album, Good News dropped. "Body" quickly became a hit while women empowerment and self love/acceptance/confidence are the reoccurring theme throughout. Breonna Taylor is mentioned a few times, too.

Now it's 2021 and Megan Thee Stallion is still going strong.
The now 26 year old will be graduating from Texas Southern with a degree in Health Administration.

She's also a big player on the 2021 festival circuit and her fest sche is stacked, too!

This July to September Megan Thee Stallion will be gracing the stage at Rolling Loud Miami, Lollapolooza, Bonnaroo and BottleRock Napa. I love that her festival run is slated to come to an end in Napa, CA. The older, rich, white demographic at what's been called the "Mom Festival" will be blown away by her hot girl shit.
