Robyn Sexistential Tour @ The Forum 9/23/2026

Kia Forum 9/23/2026

When a girlfriend in the same age group as me asked if I wanted to try to see Robyn at one of her two shows at KIA Forum I said yes right away. Not because I'm a huge Robyn fan but because it was a guarenteed good time and I was waaaaay over do for a ladies night, dancing, smiles, good vibes and live music of my own choosing. We snagged resonably priced tickets with a not completely shitty view of the stage on September 23rd, the show added by popular demand ahead of her September 24th show.

The 47 year old pop senstation released her debut album, Robyn Is Here, 31 years ago. Thirty one years! Her ninth studio album, Sexistential dropped on March 27th, 2026 bringing her back into the public eye eight years after her eighth studio album Honey. The new album came nearly a decade after her 2010 albums, Body Talk, Body Talk pt. 1 and Body Talk pt.2 made the Swedish singer a globally known popstar. As the nostalgia wave of reboots and sequels surfacing decades later continues, fans eagerly welcomed her back to the scene yearning to be brought back to better, simpler, hopeful times we remember from the mid 2000s.

The show started with the silhouette of the star who was behind a thin veil covering the stage keeping her and her band under wraps. Moments after the music started, in a flurry of bright strobe lights, she emerged between two pieces of flowy fabric to a roaring crowd and we were off!

Electrically mesmerizing from the get go, Robyn mercilessly carried the show all on her own. In an instant everyone around us was up on their feet. Her sweet, breathy voice never altered as she worked the stage and she worked it: strutting, singing, rolling around, seductivley using her mic stand as a prop. A vision of owning your power, Robyn had everyone in the venue in the palm of her hand and we loved it. There were solo spot light moments but for the most part the stage and the floor were drenched in alternating bright lights and pulstating strobes. She threw in a few wardrobe changes that got hotter and hotter as she dared to bare more of her physique while her songs continued to bare more of her heart and soul.

She candidly shared that she used to feel embarassed for writing sad love songs but having a baby shifted her perspective about it. After two long standing relationships ended in heartbreak, at 44 years old and as a single mother, Robyn had a baby boy thanks to IVF in 2022. Talk about owning your power.

She  did a cover of The XX song, "Life", a sort of mash-up of her song "Don't Fucking Tell Me What To Do" mixed in with Britney Spears and Madonna's "Me Aganist the Music" coupled with "My Neck, My Back" by Khia and accoustic versions of "Be Mine!" and "Show Me Love". Even though the tour was in support of her latest album, the 21 song set only included a handful of new songs while the rest was comprised of selections from across her catalog.

Ending her three song encore under a shower of glitter on an otherwise dark stage, Robyn herself was moved to tears when her backing band peeled back the music and the crowd sang the whole chorus to her hit single, "Dancing On My Own". She wasn't the only one moved to tears as my own eyes started welling up. Turning to my friend, we saw that we were both fighting back happy, feel good tears. It was quite a moment. It was quite a show. It took me by surprise how earnestly good Robyn is live and I'm so glad I didn't miss it.

The North American leg of the Sexistential tour came to an end when she headlined night one of the  fifth annual Portola Music Festival in San Francisco.

Millennials in Italy and Australia get ready for a heartfelt show when Robyn heads your way at the end of the month and late November.

Top shows of 2022

1. Harry Styles 11/15/2022 @ The Forum

Harry Styles 11/15/2022 @ The Forum

Harry Styles released Harry's House, his third solo album last Spring to whichto a very warm welcome. Then the sprightly British musician/actor/heart throb took his show on the road, spreading his love to everyone, everywhere.
What's not to love about that?!

Hands down, Harry Styles' Love on Tour show at The Forum on November 15th, 2022 is the number one best show I saw last year.

I couldn't believe and still can't believe that I managed to get up close (and I wish personal) in the pit. I had already seen him perform "As It Was" at Coachella so I wasn't heart broken that I missed it that night and I spotted Olivia Wilde in the midst of adoring fans!
The crowd engagement!
The stage design!
The band!
Harry's swiveling hips!
He played everything I could have wanted to hear from the new album as well as his first two albums.
Seeing Harry Styles live on his Love on Tour tour was everything you could imagine it would be, tenfold.

The only thing I would have changed is the thousands of screaming fans drowning out his singing.

2. Yeah Yeah Yeahs 10/6/2022 @ The Hollywood Bowl

As soon as I found out the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were playing The Hollywood Bowl on about this show I had to be there and thanks to a co-worker friend for hooking it up I was!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs @ The Hollywood Bowl 10/6/2022

Karen O looked and sounded stunning and it was so good to see the three of them back on stage again. We got closer and closer and closer still as the show went on and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs played all of the hits we were dying to hear.

The opening acts that night, The Linda Lindas and Japanese Breakfast, rounded out an all Asian female line up which was pretty fucking cool.

Hopefully the trend setting Yeah Yeah Yeahs front woman spawned another trend there. We guessed that they'd have more on store for us this year and we were right, Yeah Yeah Yeahs 2023 tour dates have been annouced!

3. Lady Gaga 9/10/2022 @ Dodger Stadium

From her gaggle dancers and choreographed dancing, to all of the costume changes and stage changes, pryotechnics and routaiting vibes as one album to the next came to life on stage.
Did it feel like she was phoning it in? A little but it's Lady fucking Gaga.

Little monsters and their insurmountable energy filled dodger stadium with wigs, eye catching lewks, love and excitement. Cuties around me belted along with "Born This Way" which moved me to happy tears and I wouldn't want it any other way.

4. Florence and The Machine 10/14/2022 @ The Hollywood Bowl

While I do love seeing me some Florence and the Machine live I have come to realize I am captivated more so by her than by her music. Florence did not disapoint night one of two at The Greek. They closed out their 2022 tour with two sold-out shows at The Greek Theater. On night one I was surprised and delightedthat  "Dog Days are Over" was played early on.

She emerged to stage covered with white and black chandelers in one of her now signature, long, flowy frocks and long flowing red hair and the crowd lost it.
 AND THAT VOICE.

Before the third song she had already got off of the stage and onto the walkway that goes through the pit and seated area. She put on a flower crown a fan handed her as she passed, undoubtedly making their day as well as everyone else's who she sauntered past that night

5. The Kills 6/6/2022 @ The Mayan

Last year Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart of The Kills played shows for the first time since 2019. After opening for Mosshart's Dead Weather bandmate Jack White in the greater Bay Area on June 5th they headed to LA for two shows at The Mayan on June 6th and a second show added by popular demand on June 7th before going on to play a couple shows in New York.
I had to be at one of these shows.

The Kills @ The Mayan 6/6/2022

It was my first time at The Mayan and nearly five years since the last time I saw The Kills live. I could hardly wait for them to take the stage.   Sharing the same sentiment, they expressed gratitude for being back playing live shows not just for fans but with fans post lockdowns.
There were a couple technical hiccups and rusty performance moments where you could tell the duo was getting back in the groove of live shows again. It was a reminder that rockstars are human too and they rocked! 2022 Marked the twentieth anniversary of the release of their second album, No Wow and they played at least one song from all of their five albums.
Is more coming from The Kills this year?

6. Sylvan Esso @ Electric Forest 2022

Last year saw the return of a festie favorite, Electric Forest in Rothbury Michigan. The String Cheese Incident, Griz and Clozee brought the wook-ery while Sylvan Esso brought the indie-dance vibes. The dreamy electro-pop duo stayed busy during the pandemic releasing new music then promptly going on  tour as soon as things started to re-open. They seemed a little burned out on stage, Amelia mustering some of her signature wiggles and kicks here and there while Nick stayed hidden in fog machine fog.

I found myself closer than the fans riding the rails, alone in the photo pit dancing my heart out with my co-workers who got stopped by security watching me go.
It was like a private Sylvan Esso show just for me.

In true Electric Forest fashion, it was magical.

7. Elton John 11/20/2022 @ Dodger Stadium

November 20th, 2022 Elton John played his final show in the US at Dodger Stadium.  If I'd have seen more of the show it'd be higher on my list but alas work kept me from seeing most.  I heard it though. The top of the set was filled with hits: opening with "Bennie and the Jets" he kept the party going with "Philidelphia Freedom", "Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues", "Tiny Dancer" and "Rocket Man". Being a long time fan of Marilyn Monroe and her story myself, when his tribute to the misunderstood beauty "Candle in the Wind" being able to catch him perform it was perfection.

There was an abundance of feather boas, sequence and oversized bedazzled sun glasses in the crowd at the sold-out stadium show, the same stadium he played back in 1975 with that infamous rhinestone encrusted Dodgers uniform. Hits also closed the show with hits of course, including "Crocodile Rock" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting". The last song of his final show in the US on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was of course, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".

8. Dua Lipa @ Firefly 2022

It's a rare occasion if a whole team at a music festival can watch a set together but me and the hospo crew made it a point to watch Dua Lipa close out Firefly 2022 in Dover Delaware. If there's one thing I love more than a team photo it's a team outting at a show and this is one of the best fest sets I've ever seen.

Dua Lipa @  Firefly 2022

Dua didn't need extra thrills to spice up her set. Surrounded by an army of male and female dancers, she performed all of her hits with a graceful swagger and uber confidence that carried the show and made you want to keep watching. The big moon balloons that got tossed around during Levitate and blasts of confetti that showered the crowd to end the festival were added bonuses. There is no denyinh that Dup Lipa is hot and her shining genuineness through out her perfmance made her and her set to close out Firefly 2022 even hotter.

9. Bikini Kill 4/26/2022 @ Pappy & Harriet's

Between working Coachella and Stagecoach last year, I got a last minute invite to Bikini Kill at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown. Not only had I been wanting to see Bikini Kill, seeing a show at Pappy and Harriet's was high on my list, too plus there was an extra ticket and it'd be with great company. So a show between shows? Yes please.
Arriving fashinably late, we went in through the back entrance and headed toward the noise and the crowd.

Bikini Kill @  Pappy & Harriet's 4/26/2022

Pappy and Harriet's has two stages, one indoor and one outdoor and Bikini Kill was playing outside. We caught a couple songs of their regular set before playing some songs for their encore, saving the best for last, their most well known single, "Riot Girl". If there's one song to see Bikini Kill play live it's "Riot Girl" and we saw it! First time seeing Bikini Kill as well as the first time at Pappy and Harriet's made for a great night even if we only caught the tail end of the show.

10. Pussy Riot 8/7/2022 @ Outside Lands 2022

Day three of Outside Lands welcomed Pussy Riot to the Panhandle stage at Outside Lands last summer. It was a beautful sun shiny day in Golden Gate Park when Pussy Riot took the stage. The righteous feminist activist group from Russia has windeled down from 11+ members to a solid handful with Nadya Riot at the helm.

Bandmates donned the signature Pussy Riot ski masks while Nadya's long Billie Eilish-esque locks blew in the Summer breeze. The front lady of the provocative punk band wore arosing fishnets, thigh high pink leather boots and an oversized T-shirt which she later shed on stage to reveal a more revealing outfit, if you can call it an outfit. While shedding said T-shirt she made it clear that it stated Free Brittney Griner. A protest of you will and very apropos.

Her vocal range from modestly incocent singing to diaphragmatic scream sining was surprisingly impressive. Ski masked dancers suggestivly danced on either side of her as she worked the crowd with silky movements, death stares and dominating attention from the crowd like a domanatrix with props like a long red whip. And of course there was political banter. Aside from freeing Brittney Griner, Nadya Riot also comented on Russia's attacks on Ukraine and a woman's right to choose in the US.

It wouldn't be a proper Pussy Riot show without some political banter, right? Nadya Riot delivered on all fronts.

As 2023 tour annoucements and fesival line-ups keep coming we're looking forward to a year full of live music. What's on your must see list this year?

Goodies from The Kills & The White Stripes

If there's been a void in your rock N roll fill lately, have no fear.

The Kills and The White Stripes announced that they will be releasing a compilation album of b-sides and a greatest hits album (respectively) in December.

Joy to the world!

The White Stripes Greatest Hits

October 5th Kills announcement of Little Bastards, a remastered compilation of b-sides and rarities from 2002-2009, to be released on December 11th.

October 7th The White Stripes announced via Third Man Records that they're set to release their first ever official anthology of recordings...AKA The White Stripes greatest hits on December 4th!

The Kills have five albums in their catalog to date:

- Keep Your Mean Side
- No Wow
- Midnight Boom
- Blood Pressures
- Ash & Ice

According to the announcement about Little Bastards, the collection of b-sides will come from their first three albums.

The Kills,  Little Bastards

It has been 13 years since The White Stripes' last album, Icky Thump.
While Jack White has been busy with his solo work, The Dead Weather (his side project with The Kills' Alison Mosshart on lead vocals), The Raconteurs and Third Man Records, we haven't heard too much from or about The White Stripes.

According to The White Stripes Instagram account, which was just created around the same time as the announcement of their upcoming greatest hits album, the collection will include 26 songs and is titled My Sister Thanks You and I Thank You: The White Stripes Greatest Hits.
It is available for pre-order on CD, double LP and digital as of now.

The White Stripes Greatest Hits track listing

After it was part of Jack's impromptu performance on SNL a couple of weeks ago, it's been confirmed that "Ball and Biscuit" is on the greatest hits track list. Apparently more tracks will be announced leading up to the release, so keep your eyes for that.

These October treats are kind of tricky since we have to wait until December to enjoy them. They are something to look forward to though!

Musicians supporting masks to save lives & music

These last few weeks have really been an eye opener in so many ways.
It's easy to see that it's not cheap to live a healthy life here in the United States. All you have to do is go to a grocery store and compare the organic to non-organic prices. Items on the McDonald's dollar value menu are cheaper than most store bought food and a lot more accessible to those living in low income communities. Furthermore, fast-food chains like devout Southern Baptist owned and operated Chic-Fil-A promote homophobia and the Christian run In & Out has shown their support for Trump by donating thousands of dollars to him over the years. We all know now what Trump supports but can everyone afford not to support these businesses?

As our country started reopening, the whole world saw a serge of COVID-19 cases across America simply because Americans refuse to wear masks. And the people who don't wear masks aren't getting tested for COVID-19 until it's too late (ie: they've gone around spreading their germs because they continue to go out with out a mask on not knowing they're infected therefore infecting other people).

Did you know that the poor and minority communities are at greater risk? Not just of COVID-19 but every disease, especially infectious ones. Think about it. Health care, access to healthy food and clean drinking water, good living conditions/environments, those all cost money. Add being diagnosed, hospitalization, medication and everything that comes along with getting sick when you're poor, broke, struggling, unemployed, homeless...

Some people can't afford to buy a mask, provide their family with masks or wash their mask regularly and some people can but refuse not to (did someone say, privileged?).

Now think about systemic racism. If you're a poor minority in the United States how do you get ahead and take care or yourself? How do we take care of these communities when the infrastructure in which we live doesn't want to take care of them? One of the easiest things to do right now, to help them against COVID-19, is to wear a mask.

musicians supporting Noise For Now + Seeding Sovereignty campain from left: Fiona Apple, TV on The Radio,
Bon Iver, Kim Gordon and Alexis Kraus

Last week musicians like, Fiona Apple, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Bon Iver, Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, Cat Power, TV On The Radio, Fleet Foxes, Dirty Projectors and more started voicing their support for the Noise For Now + Seeding Sovereignty campaign.

Noise For Now links touring musicians, promoters and local reproductive rights organizations in cities across the country and Seeding Sovereignty is an Indigenous womxn led collective working to shift social and environmental patterns from colonial institutions to Indigenous practices created in synchronicity with the land.

A note from Noise For Now: "COVID-19 has exposed our country's chronic systemic injustices; rates of infection are rising in overburdened Indigenous communities who lack PPE, healthcare, running water and food. Meanwhile, politicians have used the pandemic to impose state-level restrictions on abortion access and forced temporary health center closures, making it even more difficult for many families to access care. This disproportionately impacts people with low incomes, people of color, and those living in extremely rural communities.

Here's how you can help: for every purchase of a Noise For Now + Seeding Sovereignty mask or bandana, one mask will be donated to Seeding Sovereignty's Indigenous Impact Community Care Initiative for distribution to COVID-19 impacted Pueblos and reservations. Their masks and bandanas are sustainably made by Suay Sew Shop and can be purchased at noisefornow.org/shop.
Cash donations will also be made to Seeding Sovereignty's mutual aid and abortion funds that serve Indigenous and undocumented people."

Do you like live music? Do you enjoying going to concerts? Would you like to go to a concert at your favorite local music venue when it's safe to do so? The longer people do not wear masks, the longer the lock down will last. Concerts are one of few things in the last phase of re-opening and they were one of the first things to go at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The longer music venues stay closed the less likely it is they will re-open when they're allowed to do so (and when tours resume).

Music venues are experiencing upwards of 90% revenue loss and will be closed well into 2021 due to safety concerns posed by large social gatherings. This effects the entire music eco-system: artists, talent agents, bookers, tour managers, artist managers, venue managers, venue staff, stage hands, security, catering, artist hospitality, tour bus industry, production, radio/social media/TV/print advertising, record companies and so many more have been un-employed for 4 months with no end in sight.

How can you help?
1. wear a mask
2. contact your Senators and Representatives and let them know you support NIVA
(National Independent Venue Association)

Don't know who your Senators or Reps are or what to say? Go to www.saveourstages.com, put in your info and they do ALL of the work for you: find your Senators and Representative, generate the email and send the email. They provide you with phone numbers to call, too!

It's as easy as wearing a mask.

masks designed by The Kills

Speaking of masks and NIVA, rock N roll duo The Kills have designed masks! All  proceeds from sales of masks by The Kills go to NIVA and the #saveourstages initiative which is helping to save independent music venues around the country who are struggling to keep their venues from permanent closer!

Good news is that The Kills started selling their masks last week on their website www.thekills.tv and are already sold-out! More good news is that more masks from The Kills to support NIVA and #saveourstages will be on-sale again soon.
In the mean time, keep fighting the good fight by wearing a mask, sending emails and making calls to save our stages. There's also NIVA merch for sale that helps their cause, too.
I'd love to see you at show someday!

April showers

You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers and when it rains it pours.
This is the time of year when we usually start seeing more tours rolling through town filling our nights with live shows. Now of course there are no shows but that hasn't stopped the music.
Last month brought us a lot of new music: albums, EPs and so many singles. There are silver linings in the weird state of gray we find ourselves in as we move further into quarantine and social isolation. Mother Earth is healing, artists are finding inspiration to create and music is still bring us together.

WOMB Purity Ring
On February 18th, Purity Ring released "Stardew", their first single since 2015's "Bodyache".
April 3rd served as the birth date, if you will, of the Canadian witch-house duo's third album, WOMB. They haven't strayed too far from what we were introduced to back in 2012 with Shrines; delicate vocals tracing an almost morbid kinship of spiritual and physical pains of life. Comfort can be found in the familiarity of their hauntingly romantic sounds in these times of uncharted uncertainty.

It Is What It Is Thundercat
The fourth album from experimental acid-jazz aficionado, Stephen Lee Bruner AKA Thundercat  Along with an appropriate title for an album released during this time in history, It Is What It Is comes at a time when putting on a album and letting it play as you go on with your day is what people need right now came on April 3rd.

The New Abnormal - The Strokes
With seven years between albums, it's safe to call the April 10th, 2020 release of The Strokes' 6th album, The New Abnormal a comeback. It's unclear if the 9 track album was named before, during or after quarantine but it's arrival time was impeccable. As the world uncomfortably adjusts to it's new "normal" as a resistance to embracing our obvious abnormality, this album has everything we could have asked for from The Strokes. They premiered the opening track, "The Adults are Talking" which happens to be one of my faves from the new album, at their concert at The Wiltern in LA last May. "Bad Decisions" is another new favorite of mine and is considered an official single from The New Abnormal. Because of music festival and tour cancellations it might be a while until we get to see The Strokes play these new tunes live but like their new album, it will be worth the wait.

Fetch the Bolt Cutters - Fiona Apple
Fiona Apple delivered her first album in eight years on Friday April 17th. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is percussion fueled, piano filled soulful and insightful. Fiona continues to get acclaimed praise for her 5th album since it's release as a great, conceptual piece. It's raw, abounded energy emulates life interrupted and goes with the flow.  Like others on this list, it's title could be a sign of the times but lyrics of the title track, "fetch the bolt cutters, I've been in here too long", are without a doubt how all of us who have been in lock down feel.

Good Souls Better Angels - Lucinda Williams
Have you ever heard blues that stick to your bones? Once you listen to the new album from Lucinda Williams, you'll know what I mean. On April 23rd, three years after her last album, Good Souls Better Angels is Lucinda Williams' 15th album.  As soon as I pressed play I liked what I heard. Since we seem to be waking up to bad news everyday these days "Bad News Blues" really strikes a cord and the song that follows, "Man Without a Soul" makes me wonder who she's singing about (I have a good idea). Her gravely baritone is powerfully moving on all 12 songs.
These new blues from Lucinda Williams will fill your soul.

To Feel Alive (EP)- Kali Uchis
The latest release from the 25 year old, Columbian- American singer/songwriter Kali Uchis dropped on April 24th.The 4 track EP, To Feel Alive was never slated to exist but when Uchis found herself in quarantine isolation she decided to bring her fans "a little momentary excitement and emotion". So, she hunkered down in a make-shift recording studio in her bedroom and wrote, produced and preformed To Feel Alive all on her own. It's been said that the 4 track EP is her most revealing musical self-portrait yet.

Fragile - MNDR
MNDR keeps teasing a new album with new singles. She shared "Fragile" on April 3rd.
RISE - Alison Mosshart
The Kills and The Dead Weather's front-woman released her first solo work on April 9th.

Kyoto - Phoebe Bridgers
Two singles from Bridgers dropped on April 9th, "Kyoto" and "Garden Song". Her 2nd album, Punisher, is due out June 19th.
Inside Friend - John Mayer & Leon Bridges
their first collab dropped at midnight on April 10th
Forever - Charli XCX
"Forever" is her first single off of her upcoming new album. It was created in quarantine  two days before it's April 10th release date.
Tame Impala and The Streets single
This surprising collab came on April 13th.
Hollywood Park - The Airborne Toxic Event
The first new music from The Airborne Toxic Event came on April 14th. The new single, "Hollywood Park" is off their upcoming album due out on May 8th.
Walls - The Lumineers
The Lumineers released their cover of "Walls" by Tom Petty on April 16th to benefit MusiCares.
I'm Ready - Sam Smith Demi Devoto
the two pop stars hyped up their single leading up to it's April 17th release.
Rock Bottom - Misterwives
Misterwives announced a ne single on April 20th and on April 22nd we got hit with "Rock Bottom".
Living in a Ghost Town - The Rolling Stones
The Stones are still at it. Their answer to social distancing dropped on April 23rd.
Time (You and I) - Khruangbin
On April 27th, the psychedelic, disco driven new groove from Khruangbin gave us a preview of what to expect on their new album in June.
Savage Remix feat. Beyoncé - Megan Thee Stallion
On April 29th the buzz around Megan Thee Stallion got a little louder with the Queen Bey jumping on a remix version of the budding star's hot single.
I Know Alone - HAIM
The Haim sisters are working on a new album and gave us a little taste with "I Know Alone" on April 29th.

A few May flowers have already popped up, too:
Dreamland - Glass Animals (May 1st)
Be Kind- Marshmello feat. Halsey (May 1st)
Julianna Calm Down - Dixie Chicks (May 1st)

Musically inclined Holiday wish-list

Remember having a Christmas wish-list when you were a kid? Granted there are things you want that would make for the perfect gift(s) when you get older, however the novelity of a wish-list becomes a thing of Christmas past the older you get.

So, what do you get for the music lover on your shopping list?
Concert tickets are always a good go to, current or up-coming tours permitting of course. How 'bout thinking outside of the box for musically inclined things to wrap up? Musicians don't only make music you know.

For example:
She hasn't release an album in years but along with Savage X Fenty Lingerie by Rhianna there's also her Fenty make-up line.
Gwen Stefani has a stylish  L.A.M.B eye ware line.
Dolly Parton has a few children's books out there.
Work out like Madonna with her Addicted to Sweat video collection.
Learn some new recipes from Action Bronson and one of his cookbooks.

New music from one of my most favorite rock stars would rock, but some other works of hers are at the top of my (would be) wish-list.

The Kills @ Outside Lands

Leading lady of The Kills and The Dead Weather, Alison Mosshart is a bonafide artist through and through. The Florida raised, Nashville dwelling, pants wearing, vegan is no doubt a rockstar, but she's also a painter, writer and fashionista.

She's had art exhibits in L.A., New York and Nashville to show off her abstract, avant garde paintings and earlier this year she released her first book: a collection of photos, poems and short stories called CAR MA. Growing up, Alison Mosshart's mother was a high school art teacher and her father,  a used car dealer. CAR MA is a love letter to the motor car, a book about rock N rock and love. The author staes that "It's a book about America, performance, and life on the road. It's a book about fender bender portraiture, story tellin' tire tracks, and the never ending search for the spirit under the hood." Is there anything she does that isn't cool? CAR MA is available via Dover Street Market.

R13 x Alison Mosshart Collection

Alison rocks, obviously, and so does her fashion. This year she took it to the next level. Her first fashion collaboration is a collection with the New York label, R13. Her eccentric line is fierce and oh so rock N roll with price tags to match.

My favorite pieces are the fuzzy, over-sized, blue zebra print sweater and the super skinny, army green + neon pink, cheetah print jeans.
I wouldn't have thought to wear these two together but Alison pulls this look off like the rock star that she is.
This outfit alone is nearly $1,500 and that's why it is on my (would be) wish-list. The whole Alison Mosshart collection is rad, again I ask, is there anything she does that isn't?
