New music in the New Year

It's a New Year which means new music! Here are some artists who have new albums coming out sometime this year along with some wishful thinking for 2016.

Santigold hasn't released an album since Master if Make Believe in 2012 but the new mom has released "Can't Get Enough of Myself" and "Who Be Lovin Me"off of her upcoming 3rd album.

99cent is slated to be released February 22nd, 2016!

M.I.A had a short festival circuit in 2014 and dropped two brand new, politically charged singles in 2015 ("Swords", "Borders") which can only mean a brand new album and subsequent headlining tour in 2016, right?! (pretty please?)

MNDR has yet to make any announcements about a new album following the release of her new song "Kimono" on October 9th. With only one studio album o date: 2012's Feed Me Diamonds, one can only hope this new single means a full LP is on the horizon in 2016.

Nine Inch Nails "waved goodbye to the world" 6 years ago but on Friday December 18th Trent Reznor announced there's going to be new material in 2016! Well hell-O! We're getting closer to new tunes from N.I.N!

Sleigh Bellssinger Alexis Krauss announced onstage this summer at the Northside Festival that the "next time we're onstage it will be with new music." The Brooklyn based brat-pop twosome has released 3 albums since their 2010 debut, the last one being 3 years ago come 2016. They dropped a single off up the upcoming new album on December 7th stating that they're finishing up the new record and couldn't wait! A release date has not been confirmed.

Anthony Gonzolez has kept busy since M83's 2011 popular Hurry Up We're Dreaming LP: composing the original soundtrack for the movie Oblivion and working with HAIM on the Insurgent track Holes in the Sky. On December 17th news broke that "A new M83 album is now finished".
Gonzolez himself stated that the new album is "very epic" and "quite different" from their previous work.
